LaxPros Sneak Past BA

The lacrosse team played a solid game this weekend holding the Portland Lax Pros to a one goal difference for the first three quarters of the game. In the first quarter Alec Westerhoff ( LeGrange Park, IL) gave BA a 1-0 lead when he completed a pass from Jeremy Buckley (Norwell, MA). It didn’t take long for the Lax Pros to get on the scoreboard with two goals following. However, the Wolverines continued to play a solid game and keep it close into the second quarter. The Lax Pros scored two more, but Eddie Suh (Colchester, CT) tallied an unassisted goal shortly following to get BA back in the game. A few minutes later Chris Barney (Cheshire, CT) won a faceoff, took the ball down the field, and netted BA’s third goal of the game. BA entered the half only down 4-3.

While the team worked hard in the second half, the Lax Pros were able to slip four goals past the Wolverine’s goaltender to secure the 11-6 win. The coaching staff saw both the good and bad elements of the game. Assistant Coach Brock Armour had a few thoughts about the game. “In the first half we played with poise and confidence, both offensively and defensively. Unfortunately we came out in the second half stringing together multiple sequences of unforced turnovers, which resulted in a swing of goals for the opposing team. We look to correct those mistakes and rebound for next weekend’s game,” said Armour.

This Friday the team will travel to the University of New Hampshire to take on their club team at 6:30 P.M.
