Lacrosse Dominates Dean College

The lacrosse team was able to turn their season around this week as they dominated Dean College with a 13-1 victory. The team played a disciplined game and moved the ball. Additionally, Bridgton was able to capitalize on many of Dean’s sloppy plays. Dean was able to slip one goal past Bridgton with four minutes left in the game but was otherwise the stopped by Bridgton’s defense led by Chris Gibaldi (Rocky Point, NY), Chris Nabors (Pittsburgh, PA), Korin Sunday (Hogansburg, NY), Walt Hinnent (Winston Salem, NC), Bryson Weberg (Parksville, BC), Dan Duffy (Wakefield, RI), and Abel Warden (Johnson, VT). Tyler Abernathy (Winston Salem, NC) started off in net for the Wolverines and made six saves, while Chris Smith (Montclair, NJ) tallied 15 saves between the pipes.

On offense, Bridgton peppered Dean’s goaltender with shots, 13 of which made it past. The offensive attack was lead by Jake Johnson (Trabuco Canyon, CA) with three goals, Ryan O’Sullivan (Centerville, VA), Nick Gorasi (Sandwich, MA), and Lawrence Dee (Charlotte, VT) with two, and Teddy Wright (Copiague, NY), Cullen Reinartz (Ada, MI), Duffy, and Chris Dolewa (Saco, ME) with one apiece.

Bridgton also dominated the faceoffs in the game, winning 15 of 17. Tony Marcella (Bridgton, ME) and Christian Houk (Tivoli, NY) each won six while Wright claimed three.

Coach Bamann was thrilled with the performance saying “we had a much better outing than the week before. We played a skilled game and it carried us past Dean.”

Up next the lacrosse team will host Navy Prep on Satuday the 1st at 1:00 P.M. for Parents Weekend. We hope to see lots of friends and family at the game!
