BA vs. UNH

Saturday, the BA Lacrosse Team faced the University of New Hampshire Wildcats. The Wildcats came out firing, stretching their lead to 5-1 going into the second quarter. The Wolverines fought back and clicked well. The defense kept the game close. The goal scores for the Wolverines were Zach Schwartz (Centerport, NY) added a hattrick, Joe Christman (Wilbraham, MA) had two, including one short handed, Colin Conley (Dudley, MA) with two, Cooper Chapman (Martha’s Vineyard, MA) with one, James May (Branford, CT) and Matt McCutcheon (Duxbury, MA) with one each. Even with all the scoring, it was not enough to beat UNH. BA lost 13-10.

BA vs. 413 Lacrosse Team


        Bridgton Academy Lacrosse team traveled down to Springfield, MA on Saturday to take on 413 Lacrosse team at Western New England University. Although the Wolverines started out strong in the first half, they couldn’t close the deal in the second half, and ended up losing by a narrow margin of 13-12. The Wolverines leading scorer in the game was Zack Schwartz (Centerport, NY) with five goals. The three Wolverine goalies, Austin O’Connor (Bedford, MA), John Trutza (East Greenwich, RI) and Alex Addison (Annapolis, MD) each had a strong games, coming up with some big saves.

BA vs. Navy Prep





The Bridgton lacrosse team played Navy prep in their second meeting this fall. Goals for Bridgton came from Joe Christman (Wilbraham, MA), James May (Branford, CT), Nolan Robison (Timmonium, MD), Zack Shwartz (Centerport, NY), and three for Joe Parnell (Marshfield, MA). Despite the best efforts of the team the game ended 22-7. The Wolverines will travel to Western New England University to compete against Army Prep on 10/12/13.

BA vs. Maine Lobsterman


Bridgton’s lacrosse team took to the field this past Saturday against the Maine Lobsterman. The BA Team came out firing on all cylinders and continued to battle the whole game. Although the out come was not what the Wolverines where looking for, as it was a 17-8 loss, there was still some bright spots. As Joe Christman (Wilbraham, MA) had five goals, Grant Peacock (Montreal, CA), Matt McCutcheon (Duxbury, MA) and Colin Conley (Dudley, MA) each had a goal.

BA vs. Navy Prep

The lacrosse team had a frustrating opening to their season, dropping their first game of the year on September 7 against a very strong Navy Prep team, 19-1. However, with a rematch looming during Parents and Alumni Homecoming Weekend on September 28, the BA lacrosse team has a shot at redemption.

What are your goals at BA?
To improve my character.  Honestly?  Pretty much the same thing everybody says.  I want to learn how to succeed in the classroom while becoming a better athlete. 

Where are you looking for college?
I’m Committed to Springfield College and I plan on playing Lacrosse.

Is BA different than your high school?  If so, how?
Yes.  At Bridgton your teachers actually care about your success.

What is the best thing about BA?
Being able to develop relationships with people that I know will last- we just “bro out”.

What is the worst thing about BA?
Not being able to leave campus for the entire week.

How did you hear about BA?
My lacrosse coach, Jonathan Salch is an alum.  My lacrosse number, 9, is his old number.

What are your goals at BA?
To improve, both academically and athletically.  My ultimate goal is to improve my chances of getting into the school of my choice.

Where are you looking for college?
Roger Williams, St. Mike’s, Whittier and Stevenson University.

What is your dream school?
Syracuse.

Is BA different than your high school?  If so, how?
Yes.  First of all, it’s much more strict.  It’s also all guys, it’s a locked campus and I have mandatory study hall almost every night.

What is the best thing about BA?
The fact that I get to play lacrosse every day.

What is the worst thing about BA?
I don't like that it’s a locked campus.

To get good grades and be better at everything.

Is BA different than your high school?  If so, how?
Yeah.  I like the study hall- a time to do nothing but homework.  It’s harder to slack off than in high school.  The mentality of this year was also different; I’ve put in much more effort and been much more successful.

I like the people here.

What is the worst thing about BA?
The food isn’t bad, but I wish mealtimes were longer and less structured.

Dog Walking, Tennis.
