BA Dominates Crimson Classic
In the second game of the day, Bridgton played a Canadian team from Mississauga, Ontario. Their box style threw Bridgton off a little, and as a result, they scored first. After that, Bridgton was able to beat their goalie with well placed shots. For most of the first half, they were able to hang in there with Bridgton. However, sloppy plays and penalties allowed the Wolverines to capitalize on their mistakes. As a result, we beat them by 2 or 3 goals. "I was most impressed by our composure," said coach Bamann. "Their team got very chippy, and for a while it was an ugly game. In the end, our guys kept control and it showed."
In the third and final game of the day, Bridgton went up against the New Hampshire Tomahawks Club team, who proved to be a tough opponent. Their defense and goalies played well, and they came up with some huge stops. Again, Bridgton's opponent scored first, but the Wolverines quickly tied it up. The score remained 1-1 through the first half and it was very frustrating. Both teams scored to open up the second half to make it 2-2. With time running out Bridgton went ahead and won the game 3-2.
This was a great day and the coaching staff was very happy that the guys were able to stay unbeaten. It was another successful showcase as we played in front of 70 coaches and there were 60 teams. It is nice to see the guys really play well as a team. Coach Bamann commented,
"I like the chemistry going into the last event in the fall."
Up next, the Wolverines are heading to Marlborough, MA on Sunday, November 20th to play in the Beantown Fall showcase.

Lacrosse Represents BA in UMASS Showcase
The Bridgton Academy Wolverines traveled down to UMASS for their first recruiting showcase of the fall. This included over 80 elite travel teams and had over 100 div 1,2,3 college coaches in attendance. For the BA wolverines this was very exciting chance to play in front of so many highly respected college coaches and a chance to prove themselves. The Wolverines won all three games that day and each player was able to generate a great deal of interest- evident on the game tape as college coaches had taken up half of Bridgton's sideline. Coach Bamann feels these showcases are great, commenting, "We let everyone know that Bridgton Academy can play with anybody out there and our student athletes have a lot to offer.”
The Wolverines finish up with two more showcases and then their fall season will be complete.
Coach Bamann added, "I am so proud of our young men and look forward to the spring as well."
