Today (10/29) the team will be traveling to Merrimack College where they will face to BU Club team at 7:00 PM. In the following two weekends there have been a few schedule changes:

On Thursday November 4th the team will be leaving at the end of classes (around 2:00) and driving to Albany, NY where they will be spending the night at the Ramada Inn. The following day they will be playing the Hill Academy at Suny Cortland. Game time is 6:00. Following the game the team will travel back to Maine and arrive in Bridgton around 3:00am. Saturday will be spent on campus. On Sunday the team will then travel to Harvard Academy to play in the Crimson Fall Classic. They will then return to BA Sunday night.

The team will travel to Thayer Academy in Braintree MA to play in the Beantown Fall Classic. They will travel back to Bridgton that night.

Kaleikau and Kell Represent the Class of '08
Inside Lacrosse analyzed five breakthrough lacrosse players for the 2011 season. Grant Kaleikau ’08 who will start his junior year for the University of Delaware was named number four on the list. At Delaware last season Kaleikau was second in total points with a total of 41 (16 goals, 25 assists). Check out this video to see what inside lacrosse has to say about him.
Also check out the article that Inside Lacrosse wrote that mentions UMass junior Art Kell ’08. Kell was tied for the second leading scorer in 2010 with 21 goals. He also tallied 12 assists landing him with 33 points for the season. Kell suffered a broken foot eight games into the season, but was still ranked high in the team statistics. Before his injury he was 12th in NCAA points per game with 4.13, 19th in goals per game with 2.63, and 33rd in assists per game with 1.5. BA Crushes UMaine
This Sunday the lacrosse team took the field against the University of Maine’s club team. Bridgton put all they had on the field, which resulted in an 18-4 victory for the Wolverines. Ian Farley (Camillus, NY) had a total of four goals for the game high. Alec Westerhoff (LeGrange Park, IL) and Matt Stango (Jupiter, FL) each added a hat trick to the books, while Spencer Matches (Sammamish, WA) had two. Nate Nichols (Penn Yan, NY), Sean Fosse (New York, NY), Sean Williamson (Falmouth, MA), Eddie Suh (Colchester, CT), Brooks Billingham (Martha’s Vineyard, MA), and Jeremy Buckley (Norwell, MA) all added a goal apiece. While Colin Nesdale (Cheshire, CT) didn’t see much action in net, he tallied nine saves for the day. Chris Barney (Cheshire, CT) and Matches combined to win 17 of 21 face-offs. In the field BA scooped 40 ground balls and took 46 shots.
“As a whole we are very satisfied with the way the guys played this weekend. They put forth great effort which resulted in winning the small battles such as ground balls, face-offs, and limiting our unforced turnovers. We look forward to playing Boston University this Friday night,” said Coach Armour.
The team will travel to Merrimack College this Friday where they will play Boston University at 6:30 P.M.

BA Sneaks Past UNH
The lacrosse team battled the wind and rain this Friday as they traveled to UNH to play the Wildcat’s club team. After an exciting back and forth game, the Wolverines came out on top with a close score of 9-8.
With what Coach Bamann called a “rainy and sloppy start to the game”, UNH came out strong to score two goals right off the bat. While they did not dominate play, they were able to grasp a 2-0 lead. It didn’t take long however for Nate Nichols (Penn Yan, NY) to put BA on the board. Sean Williamson (Falmouth, MA) followed Nichols lead netting BA’s second goal a few minutes later. The first quarter ended tied at two goals apiece. However as the second quarter started UNH came out and scored three unanswered goals to move ahead 5-2 at the half.
At the start of the half Alec Westerhoff (LeGrange Park, IL) started BA’s comeback as he scored right off the bat. UNH tallied two more goals, but both Brooks Billingham (Martha’s Vineyard, MA) and Ian Farley (Camillus, NY) scored to get BA back in the game. Starting the fourth and final minutes of play BA knew they needed to capitalize on good passes and opportunities to secure the win. Nichols worked his way through the Wildcat defense two more times to add two more goals to complete his hat trick for the night. A few minutes later Farley scored again giving BA an 8-7 lead. However, UNH kept things close as they tied it up with another goal with only a few minutes left. BA worked hard and Storm Stockstill (Jupiter, FL) fired a rocket for the game winning goal.
While it was a close game on the field, BA dominated UNH in every statistic in the book. Chris Barney (Cheshire, CT) and Spencer Matches (Sammamish, WA) combined to win 20 of 22 face-offs. Barney and Matches also lead the team in groundballs with 8 each. As a team BA out ground balled UNH 23-10 and outshot them 35-24. Colin Nesdale (Cheshire, CT) played in goal for the Wolverines and tallied 9 saves for the night.
Coach Bamann was all in all very happy with the nights performance. The team overcame a sloppy start to play what Bamann called a “very sharp” game. “We moved the ball well and had very unselfish play. The defense shutdown the UNH attack with Leaf, Caufield, Oliver, and Drimal playing solid D all night combined with Nesdale’s key saves in net,” said Bamann.
“We played a really sharp second half with the offense spurred on by great ball movement. They had a lot of good possession so our defense didn’t have to work as hard,” Bamann added.
The team's next game is a home match up with the University Of Maine's Club team on Sunday October 24th at 2:00 P..M.

LaxPros Sneak Past BA
The lacrosse team played a solid game this weekend holding the Portland Lax Pros to a one goal difference for the first three quarters of the game. In the first quarter Alec Westerhoff ( LeGrange Park, IL) gave BA a 1-0 lead when he completed a pass from Jeremy Buckley (Norwell, MA). It didn’t take long for the Lax Pros to get on the scoreboard with two goals following. However, the Wolverines continued to play a solid game and keep it close into the second quarter. The Lax Pros scored two more, but Eddie Suh (Colchester, CT) tallied an unassisted goal shortly following to get BA back in the game. A few minutes later Chris Barney (Cheshire, CT) won a faceoff, took the ball down the field, and netted BA’s third goal of the game. BA entered the half only down 4-3.
While the team worked hard in the second half, the Lax Pros were able to slip four goals past the Wolverine’s goaltender to secure the 11-6 win. The coaching staff saw both the good and bad elements of the game. Assistant Coach Brock Armour had a few thoughts about the game. “In the first half we played with poise and confidence, both offensively and defensively. Navy Sinks BA
The Wolverine Lacrosse team traveled to Providence, RI to face Navy Prep for a second time this season. In hopes of a victory, the team came out strong. There was even play, but with six minutes left in the first quarter Navy scored their first goal, and again with 25 seconds left. BA went into the second quarter down 2-0 but ready to play. Storm Stockstill (Jupiter, FL) and Eddie Suh (Colchester, CT) both had scoring opportunities but were not able to finish. Navy then scored three more goals before Bridgton could make it on the scoreboard. Alec Westerhoff (LaGrange Park, IL) put away a pass from Nate Nichols (Penn Yan, NY) to make the score 5-1. Navy scored once more in the half, ending ahead 6-1.
In the third quarter BA held Navy to only two goals, but the offense was not able to capitalize on their scoring opportunities. Jeremy Buckley (Norwell, MA) scored two goals in the fourth quarter to give Bridgton three for the day. Unfortunately Navy was able to slip a few more past the Bridgton goaltenders tallying 13 for the day, with a final score of 13-3.
The wolverines will face the Portland LaxPros at home this coming weekend for Parents Weekend. The game will be on Saturday October 9th at 11:00 A.M.
